A grand opening of Richard Mille’s recently relocated boutique was held on April 18th, 2011 at the Lippo Plaza in Shanghai, organized by its area distributor Sparkle Roll Group Ltd.
Proud and distinguished guests included the Hollywood superstar Jackie Chan and Ferrari F1 driver Felipe Massa.
The new home of Richard Mille is located at the Lippo Plaza on Huai Hai Road, this area has been occupied by the World’s most luxurious brands in Shanghai China. This boutique has a space of 50 sq meters the mix of leather walls and the white resin floors creates a very modern feel. Like all the other Richard Mille boutiques worldwide, there are two animation windows at the entrance, conveying the three-dimensional aspect of the watches.
The cocktail was a star-studded occasion with Mr. Jackie Chan, Mr. Felipe Massa, Sparkle Roll Group’s CFO Mr. Patrick Zhao, Richard Mille Asia’s CEO Mr. Dave Tan, Chinese actress Ms. Ren Chen, and Ms. Tao Liu & Mr. Ke Wang attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony.
At this occasion, it was also the first time for Richard Mille to showcase the 2011 models such as the RM 016 DLC, RM 029 big date, RM 030 with declutchable rotor, RM 033 extra flat with its 6.33mm thickness, RM 032 diver’s chronograph automatic and RM 035 Rafael Nadal, Chronofiable® Certified watch.
The opening was during the Shanghai Formula One Grand Prix weekend and it was the perfect occasion to exhibit the new collection at the boutique enhancing the original concept for Richard Mille watches of creating ‘a racing machine on the wrist’.
The dinner reception was held at Three on the Bund. Guests were flying in from all over Greater China for this celebration. There was a surprise in the end with Jackie Chan and Felipe Massa on stage to draw two lucky winners to receive their autographed posters.
