Award-winning Zubox releases soccer satire album ‘Kicking Off’

Zubox and The Football Special’s resident stand-up comedian and South London song smith, Jim Daly, has released an album of his best footie tunes from the show.

‘Jim Daly is Kicking Off’ is a collection of 20 tracks, whose razor-sharp satirical verses have become cult listening and an integral part of the Friday Football Special show on YouTube.

Jim takes on the talk of the terraces in his brilliant new album, covering everything from Fergie Time to David Beckham’s hair, with more pop than a Joey Barton tweet.

Armed with nothing more than a guitar and cutting wit, ‘Kicking Off’ marks the first time the comedian’s weekly musical contributions to the show have been available to download all in one place.

Jim says: “The Football Special writers and voice people are a talented bunch! They churn out such good stuff, it keeps me on my toes to try and write better songs!”

Jim recently appeared on Ian Wright’s Rock ‘N’ Roll Football show on Absolute radio.

He added: “I never really ever imagined duetting with Ian Wright live on radio but there you go! It was great fun. Maybe I can get him to sing backing vocals on the show.”

The album comes in the same week Zubox was awarded the 2013 EPL Talk ‘Best of the Premier League Season Award’ for Best Video Show for The Football Special.

More than 36,000 votes were cast by soccer fans worldwide to recognise the best that the Premier League has to offer.

EPL called it “a new innovative video show that fuses computer animation with memorable characters and brilliant voices.”

The Football Special is made by Zubox, a London-based animation production house whose output is having significant impact on the speed to market of computer animation production.

Like all Zubox content, the show can be sponsored by a product or publication and easily translated into other languages.

Zubox is powered by Muvizu, the brainchild of the animation and software teams at Digimania, based in Scotland.
