UK animation innovators Digimania have attracted the creme of the UK’s comedy writers to deliver witty and insightful entertainment clips that are going global over social media.
“It’s not scripted” is the latest in a series of comedy coups from Digimania’s production team and their growing stable of leading UK comedians.
The spoof panel game show that definitely isn’t scripted was written by award-winning comedy writer, Julie Bower, who is a regular contributor to BBC comedy programmes on radio and television. She has also had short films screened at both Cannes and Bafta.
Julie’s other offering for Digimania is a movie review show that offers viewer’s an expert take on the latest blockbuster releases, even though its contributors haven’t actually watched any of them.
Also popular from the studio’s comedy camp has been its Entertainment News bulletin, The E Buzz featuring a tongue-in-cheek wrap up of the week’s happening celeb stories.
These shows are written by Marc Blakewill and James Harris who write for the likes of Horrible Histories, Russell Howard’s Good News and Sorry, I’ve Got No Head. They received a Bafta nomination for their work on Horrible Histories and won the Fringe Report Best Comedy Writers’ Award.

Digimania has developed an affinity for producing musical comedy too, with a collective album of the football songs written for their show ‘The Football Special’ (TFS) by comedian Jim Daly, released at the end of the last season. TFS recently won the 2013 EPL Talk ‘Best of the Premier League Season Award’ for Best Video Show.
“I think I’m in love with Richard Osman” carries on this success outside the football arena, written by Helen Arney.
Her love song, dedicated to the legendary boffin from Pointless, is the latest offering from the self-proclaimed ‘geek songstress’ who has sold out West End theatres and toured all over the UK as part of the science comedy phenomenon Festival of the Spoken Nerd. Helen also appears in the new series of Stewart Lee’s Alternative Comedy Experience on Comedy Central.
